First all please note that these instructions are only for use with FrontPage 2000.
If you are using FrontPage 98 please see the instructions
on the Force 9 Portal under Technical Support.

Publishing to the Force 9 FrontPage Server

First ask Force 9 to activate your FrontPage account.  Go to the portal.  Login.  Select Manage my Account.  Choose Activate FrontPage Extensions.

You will receive an email from Force 9 when the account has been activated.

Start FrontPage 2000

I recommend that you start by publishing a small web.  You can amend and add to it later, once you have successfully published to the Force 9 FrontPage server.

Select File, Publish Web ...

Click Options until you see the above screen.  Enter the location as shown.. substituting your F9 username where it says username above.

Select the other options as shown above.

Click on Publish.

FrontPage will dial up if you are not already connected.

FrontPage will then ask for your username and password.

Type them in being careful to use the correct case.

FrontPage 2000 will then publish your pages.

When it has finished it will say click here to view your web site.

Click and admire your handiwork.

If the above does not work for you.  Check that you have followed the instructions carefully..

If the above does not work for you.  Check that you have followed the instructions.  If you are getting an error message that you cannot decipher.  Cut and Paste it into an email and send it to me.  I will do my best to help.

Note that I have no connection with Force 9 other than being a customer.  I cannot fix or repair your sites for you.  I will happily test them for you but do not necessarily expect a quick response.

If you need help designing your FrontPage site I strongly suggest that you subscribe to the Microsoft FrontPage newsgroup.  Do be polite when asking questions.   The people helping you here do not actually work for Microsoft.  They are helping you because they  want to.   There may be a lot of messages to download when you first subscribe I suggest that you look at least some of them to make sure your question hasn't been answered already.

The newsgroup can be located on the msnews.microsoft.com server.

You will also find that the Microsoft FrontPage 2000 site accessed from the Help menu is a very useful source of information.
